Heavy/Medium Duty Rubber Sheathed Flexible Cable
Rubber Flexible Cable (YC/YZ)
Multi-core rubber flexible cable for portable equipment, construction sites, and outdoor temporary power
YC (heavy duty) and YZ (medium duty) rubber sheathed flexible cables are designed for portable electrical equipment operating in demanding environments — construction sites, mines, agriculture, and outdoor events. The rubber insulation and sheath provide excellent flexibility, impact resistance, and weather resistance. Rated 450/750V (YC) and 300/500V (YZ), available in 1 to 5 cores.
Key features
- Heavy-duty rubber sheath — abrasion, oil, and weather resistant
- Class 5 flexible copper conductor
- Operating temperature: -25°C to +60°C
- YC rated 450/750V (heavy duty); YZ rated 300/500V (medium duty)
- Excellent impact and crush resistance
- Available: 1-core to 5-core; 0.75mm² to 150mm²
Typical applications
- Construction site temporary power supply
- Portable generators and compressor connections
- Agricultural machinery and irrigation pumps
- Mobile cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment
- Outdoor events and entertainment lighting
- Mining surface equipment (non-gassy areas)

Frequently asked questions about Rubber Flexible Cable (YC/YZ)
Q.What is the difference between YC and YZ cable?
YC is heavy-duty (450/750V) with thicker rubber sheath for harsher environments and higher mechanical stress. YZ is medium-duty (300/500V) with thinner sheath, suitable for lighter portable equipment. Both use the same rubber insulation system.
Q.Is YC cable equivalent to H07RN-F?
YC is manufactured to Chinese standard GB/T 5013 but is functionally equivalent to IEC 60245 Type 66 / HAR H07RN-F. If your project specifically requires H07RN-F marking and certification, specify this when requesting a quote — we can produce to EN 50525 / HAR standard.
Q.Can rubber cable be used in water or wet conditions?
YC/YZ rubber cable has excellent water resistance and is suitable for wet environments. However, it is not designed for permanent submersion. For submersible pump applications, dedicated submersible cable with waterproof construction is required.
Q.What colours are available for the outer sheath?
Standard: Black. Other colours (yellow, orange) available on request for specific applications such as mining or high-visibility safety requirements.
Q.How does rubber cable compare to PVC flexible cable (RVV)?
Rubber cable (YC/YZ) has superior flexibility at low temperatures, much better abrasion resistance, and higher impact strength than PVC flexible cable (RVV). RVV is lighter and cheaper but less durable in harsh environments. Choose rubber for outdoor, construction, and industrial portable use.
