Cost-effective PVC power cable for general indoor and outdoor installations

VV/VLV series PVC insulated power cable is a versatile, cost-effective solution for general-purpose power distribution rated 0.6/1 kV. PVC insulation and sheath provide adequate moisture and chemical resistance for indoor wiring, cable trays, and duct installations. Available in copper (VV) and aluminum (VLV) conductor versions with 1 to 5 cores.

Q.When should I choose PVC (VV) cable over XLPE (YJV)?

PVC cable is suitable for general indoor wiring, cable trays, and installations where budget is priority and operating temperature will not exceed 70°C. For permanent underground installations, higher current loads, or harsh environments, XLPE is the better choice.

Q.Can PVC cable be used underground?

Plain VV cable should be installed in ducts or conduit if buried underground. For direct burial, choose armoured versions (VV22 steel tape armour or VV32 steel wire armour) which provide mechanical protection.

Q.What is the maximum operating temperature of VV cable?

PVC insulation is rated for 70°C continuous operation and 160°C short-circuit (5 seconds max). This is lower than XLPE's 90°C/250°C ratings, which is why XLPE carries more current for the same conductor size.

Q.Do you supply both copper and aluminum conductor versions?

Yes. VV (copper conductor) and VLV (aluminum conductor) are both available. Aluminum versions are lighter and lower cost but require larger cross-sections for the same current rating.
