Factory-direct WDZN halogen-free low-smoke fire resistant cable for metro, hospital and high-occupancy buildings

WDZN series combines a mica tape fire barrier with a halogen-free low-smoke sheath, so the circuit stays energised during a fire while releasing very little smoke and no corrosive acid gas. This matters in enclosed, high-occupancy spaces where smoke inhalation and equipment corrosion cause more damage than the flame itself — metro tunnels, hospital operating theatres, airport terminals and underground car parks. Available with XLPE insulation (WDZN-YJV / WDZN-YJY) or PVC insulation (WDZN-VV), 0.6/1 kV through 26/35 kV.

Frequently asked questions about LSZH Fire Resistant Cable (WDZN)

Q.What does WDZN stand for?

It is a stacked Chinese type code: WD is halogen-free (无卤), Z is flame retardant (阻燃), N is fire resistant (耐火). So WDZN-YJV is a halogen-free, flame retardant, fire resistant XLPE cable. WDZ without the N is halogen-free flame retardant only — it limits flame spread but does not keep the circuit alive.

Q.What is the difference between WDZN-VV and WDZN-YJV?

Insulation. VV is PVC insulated with a 70 °C conductor rating; YJV is XLPE insulated with a 90 °C rating, so it carries more current at the same cross-section. Both use the same mica tape fire barrier and halogen-free sheath.

Q.Is LSZH the same as fire resistant?

No, and they are often confused. LSZH describes what the sheath emits when it burns — little smoke, no halogen acid gas. Fire resistant (the N in WDZN) describes whether the circuit keeps working during the fire, which comes from the mica tape barrier. A cable can be LSZH without being fire resistant, and vice versa.

Q.Do you supply medium voltage LSZH fire resistant cable?

Yes. WDZN-YJY and WDZN-YJLY cover 3.6/6, 6/10, 8.7/15, 12/20, 18/30 and 26/35 kV in 35–1000 mm², single-core and three-core, with copper tape screen and optional armour. Send your voltage and cross-section for a data sheet.

Q.What are the MOQ and lead time?

MOQ is 500-1,000 metres per size for standard constructions, or 2,000-5,000 metres for custom specifications. Lead time is 10-15 days depending on drum quantity and stock. LSZH compound is made to order for larger volumes, so send your cable schedule early for a firm date.

Q.What packaging do you use for export?

Wooden drums for export, marked with cable type, cross-section, length and your shipping marks. Typical drum lengths are 100 m, 200 m, 500 m or 1000 m.
