Mica Tape Fire Resistant XLPE Insulated Steel Wire Armoured Cable
Fire Resistant SWA Cable (NH-YJV32)
Factory-direct 0.6/1 kV mica-tape fire resistant armoured cable for circuits that must stay live during a fire
NH-YJV32 is a copper-conductor fire resistant power cable built with a mica tape barrier under XLPE insulation and a galvanised steel wire armour over the inner sheath. The mica barrier keeps the circuit energised while the cable is burning, and the steel wire armour carries the mechanical load for direct burial and vertical riser runs. Supplied at 0.6/1 kV in 3-core, 4-core and 3+1 core builds.
Key features
- Mica tape fire barrier applied directly over the conductor
- XLPE insulation, 90 °C continuous conductor temperature
- Galvanised steel wire armour (SWA) for direct burial and riser support
- Flame retardant PVC outer sheath
- Copper conductor, solid class 1 / stranded class 2 / flexible class 5
- 250 °C maximum conductor temperature under short circuit
Typical applications
- Fire pump and sprinkler booster circuits
- Smoke extraction and pressurisation fans
- Fire alarm and emergency lighting distribution
- Emergency lift and evacuation lift supplies
- High-rise vertical riser distribution
- Tunnel and metro emergency power circuits

Frequently asked questions about Fire Resistant SWA Cable (NH-YJV32)
Q.What does the NH prefix mean in NH-YJV32?
NH is the Chinese type designation for fire resistant (耐火) construction — a mica tape barrier is applied under the insulation so the circuit keeps working while the cable burns. It is a different property from flame retardant (ZR / ZC), which only limits flame spread and does not keep the circuit alive.
Q.What is the difference between NH-YJV22 and NH-YJV32?
Armour type. 22 is double steel tape armour, 32 is galvanised steel wire armour. Steel wire armour takes higher tensile load, so it is specified for direct burial, vertical risers and any run where the cable carries its own weight. Steel tape is lighter and cheaper where mechanical protection is the only requirement.
Q.Do you supply an LSZH sheathed version?
Yes — WDZN-YJY and WDZN-YJY22 / WDZN-YJY32 are the halogen-free low-smoke equivalents, available 0.6/1 kV through 26/35 kV. See our low-smoke fire resistant page for factory data sheet figures.
Q.What conductor classes are available?
Copper solid class 1, stranded class 2, or flexible class 5. Aluminium (NH-YJLV) is also available. The data sheet figures above are for the build quoted on that specific enquiry — confirm your conductor class when ordering, since it changes overall diameter and weight.
Q.What are the MOQ and lead time?
MOQ is 500-1,000 metres per size for standard constructions, or 2,000-5,000 metres for custom specifications. Lead time is 10-15 days for standard sizes depending on drum quantity and whether the cross-section is in stock. Send your cable schedule for a firm delivery date.
Q.What packaging do you use for export?
Wooden drums for export, marked with cable type, cross-section, length and your shipping marks. Typical drum lengths are 100 m, 200 m, 500 m or 1000 m — specify your preference with the order.
